Dental Implants

Cosmetically, dental bridges and implants offer the best means of improving smiles by filling in gaps or replacing missing teeth. Bridges allow the dentist to design a natural smile using replacements when there is one or more teeth missing in sequence.

Sometimes teeth are missing due to previous extractions or congenital conditions. Dentistry now offers options for tooth replacement that not only look great but also restore the natural function of teeth. In many cases dental implants are the best option for replacing a missing tooth. The implant itself will take the place of the absent root. After a period of healing a crown is designed that attaches to the implant. The end result is a restoration that is as close as possible to having your own tooth back.

Scheduling a consultation is the best way to find out the best avenues for corrective dental procedures right for you. If implants are not an option for you, a fixed porcelain bridge which normally attaches to the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth space might be. We can give the illusion that the tooth is still present.

Patient Testimonial: I owe so much to you Máirtín for taking me on as a patient, for your amazing transformation to my "Front Tooth" and for giving me the confidence to smile without feeling "self conscious". So many people have remarked what lovely teeth I have. My own dentist had referred me to Máirtín after I fractured the root of my tooth. This tooth had already been root canalled and crowned for some years. I really am so pleased with my "New Implant". My treatment was ongoing for some time and the level of care that I received from Máirtín and his staff, Christine and Carole was second to none. I would be more than happy to recommend him to everybody.

Case 2

Description of Treatment: This patient lost his four front teeth in the upper jaw over 40 years ago. Since then he had been wearing a partial denture. In that period he incurred significant bone loss in the area where the teeth were missing.

After a clinical assessment that included photographs and x-rays, the following treatment plan was carried out:
  1. A bone graft was placed to increase the amount of bone in the jaw which could then support dental implants.
  2. Some months later when the new bone had integrated with his existing jawbone 4 dental implants were placed.
  3. When the implants had integrated with the jaw bone new teeth were attached to the dental implants restoring his smile and removing the need for a denture.

Patient Testimonial: Two words to sum up my experience with Dr. Brennan and his dental team....Quality and Perfection.

I walked into Dr. Brennan's dental practice as a seventeen year old boy who had an accident a couple of years beforehand. I had no confidence in smiling and instead I would pose for photos with my mouth closed. Two years later and I honestly cannot stop smiling, I receive compliments daily on my new teeth. The transformation over the course of two years which included a bone graft, implant and 4 porcelain veneer crowns is just unbelievable. I thank Dr. Brennan and his team so much for that. Its been an absolute pleasure to be a patient in his practice as his skill and professionalism are truly brilliant. Thank you for everything!

Patient Testimonial: When my dentist told me I had to have a plate I wasn’t too happy about it. He then suggested consulting a Prosthodontist. I did, and I am so happy with Dr. Brennan’s wonderful work. He talked me through the stages involved and the time side. At 70 years of age was I expecting too much, too late? Not a bit. Dr. Brennan did a truly remarkable job and with consummate care at all stages. Nothing was too difficult for him. Many, many thanks.

Case 8

Phase 1

Description of Treatment: This is the first phase in replacing a bridge for this patient. The patient had an existing 4 tooth bridge supported by two teeth. The root of one of the supporting teeth cracked. This necessitated the removal of the bridge and the two roots that supported this bridge. Two dental implants were then placed in those areas where the roots were extracted

Patient Testimonial: I spent my whole life attending dentists. I have had dentures since I was sixteen years old. Despite my efforts over the years I have lost more teeth and the remaining ones were functional but not anything that would encourage you to smile. I have lost count of the number of embarrassing denture related moments I have had. Because of the amount of teeth lost on the top I had no idea that there was anything available to me other than dentures. I am not exaggerating when I say my life changed when I became a patient of Dr. Brennan. Through a combination of procedures I no longer have dentures or a mouth full of metal fillings. It took some time and it was quite a challenge for Dr. Brennan but I knew if anybody could fulfill my dream it would be him. Dr. Brennan is a lovely person who puts you at complete ease and I have complete and utter confidence in his abilities. At 52 years of age I have a new lease on life with the most beautiful confident smile that I never ever thought I would see looking backing at me from the mirror. People comment that I seem to be in great form these days and its all down to the fact that I can smile and laugh with pure joy. No more hiding behind my hand or keeping my mouth closed in a tight grin. When I look back at old photographs and compare to recent ones I think I actually look younger now I can smile properly . Dr. Brennan is a very talented gifted man and the proof is there for all to see every time I smile. The staff in the practice are all charming, friendly people and I can honestly say I really enjoy my visits. Thank you Dr. Brennan from the bottom of my heart.

Patient Testimonial: For so many years I’d dreamed about not having plates and about having a real smile. It’s been a very long road and I’m sure at times, even with your infinite patience and optimism, you must have wondered what you’d taken on! I can’t believe the transformation you achieved and I’ll always remember the kindness and consideration that you showed me throughout; your care and sensitivity are truly unique in my experience.
